Cllr Rory Love

As Council Leader in 2001, Rory worked with strategic partners to set up Shepway’s first Local Strategic Partnership and together it launched the District’s first Community Strategy.

In 2002, Rory co-founded the Boulogne and Shepway Co-operation Association, a unique, cross-border partnership that has secured £2m of European funding for regeneration projects in the two districts, as well as promoting sports and cultural links.

Rory was recently Shepway’s representative on a shared services committee with Dover District Council, intended to form the basis of a wider East Kent shared services governance arrangement.

As a former Deputy Chairman of the Kent Probation Board, Rory promoted a partnership between two councils and the Probation service to provide a graffiti-removal service.

Rory is also a participant in a local “Partnership and Community Together” initiative on crime reduction and community safety.
