‘Delivering Excellent LAAs in the South East’

This event was one of three regional pilots (West Midlands, South East & Yorkshire and The Humber) where the senior leaders involved in this new round of Local Area Agreements were invited to determine together how they will take the lead in ensuring that best advantage is taken of the opportunities that this process offers.

This event was based on a well-proven methodology designed to build approaches that enable partners to impact positively on the situations in which they work. It begins by exploring information known to the group and surfacing some of the less visible dynamics. Then this is put together to determine new ways forward. This is based around a central question. The question for this event was:

What will we do to grasp the opportunity provided by new LAAs to transform this region?

The day used a variety of approaches to keep the sessions stimulating and energetic.

Objectives

• To develop a shared leadership approach that will enable the agreement of excellent LAAs in the South East
• To briefly review and learn from the past
• To understand what is different this time
• To explore the dilemmas created by this change
• To identify the work we need to do as leaders as a result of this
• To plan and commit to the next steps
