PtP Conference – 4th December 2009
The Brit Oval, London, SE11 5SS
Local leaders are facing significant challenges in future years to deliver improved services and better outcomes for their communities within tighter budgets. They will need to do more with less, and also make difficult decisions about simply doing less.
This context makes it all the more important that local partners work together to look at how their combined resources can best be used to secure high quality and relevant services for local people.
Working collaboratively through partnership is increasingly important as a way to influence and coordinate the way local services are delivered. Bringing partners together to set priorities and share resources offers opportunities to deliver better services for less.
More and more elected members are using partnerships to develop a vision for an area and embed this vision in the strategies and action plans of partner organisations so that there are common priorities and resources can be better aligned.
This conference will bring people together to share experiences of developing partnerships that can deliver results, focusing on the likely future of partnership working. The event will take place at the Oval in London on 4th December to consider:
- The future shape and impact of partnerships in leading localism and community leadership
- How elected members are increasingly able to use partnerships to engage partners and improve service delivery
- What the research can tell us about building effective partnerships
- Learning from Total Place pilots
- Scrutiny’s relationship to partnerships
- Performance management for partnerships
Who should attend:
- Elected members whose portfolio is delivered through partnership arrangements
- LSP practitioners and partnership managers and coordinators
- Partners from LSP Boards and thematic partnerships
