Progress through Partnership (PtP) aims to improve the effectiveness of strategic partnerships in the South East region. It is funded through the Regional Improvement and Efficiency Partnership and can therefore offer support either free at the point of use or at substantially subsidised rates.

Support for councillors

Involving councillors in partnership activities is essential if they are to be effective; their role as leaders of their community and as advocates for their constituents allows them to bring a unique perspective; their participation offers partnerships a degree of influence they cannot exert alone.

Making partnerships work for you

Equally, partnership support can strengthen a councillor’s voice and offer opportunities to draw resources into their communities that the council alone is unable to do.

PtP is developing a series of learning modules for councillors on partnership related subjects that are free at the point of use. They will be delivered in 1½ - 2 hour sessions either by expert consultants or by PtP Practitioner Associates (PAs).

PtP PAs are elected members, partners and officers currently active in the region committed to supporting their peers through PtP’s programme of mutual support.
