GOSE represent central government in the region and their role is to promote better and more effective integration of Government policies and programmes at a regional and local level.

GOSE help increase prosperity in the South East in a more geographically sensitive way than is often possible at a national level.

The is done by:

• Supporting regional policies,

• Helping to influence policy development among the departments represented

• Working in partnership with local organisations in communities throughout the region, including local authorities, Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships and Local Strategic Partnerships.
