Towards Sustainability

The Sustainable Communities Act 2007 starts from the principle that local people know best what changes are needed to their area. The Act offers a route to remove barriers at a national level to making these changes and doing things differently. To this end, local authorities have been invited to submit proposals to the LGA by 31 July for negotiation with the Secretary of State.
