progress through partnership
Programme Manager
Peter Johnson, previously LSP Manager at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, has been appointed programme manager for PtP and took up the post on 10th April 2007. Peter said “I have found working for an LSP an enormous challenge: developing a framework for strategic collaboration across all the organisations active in an area is a huge task. It is becoming increasingly challenging as central government lays out its intention to devolve more responsibility downwards and hold partners accountable in terms of geographical areas through LSPs. I am very excited about the chance to help deliver Progress through Partnership and build the capacity of both LSPs and their individual partners to respond to the challenge that is being set for us”. The PtP Programme Manager will maintain regular contact with partnerships in the region to identify their training and development needs.

Partnership and Communications Coordinator
Alison Craig joined the PtP team in July 2008. Alison has extensive experience of working for local government partner organisations, and of working in and through partnerships. She said “I am passionately committed to supporting local government and believe it needs to remain democratic and locally accountable whilst becoming more efficient. Effective Local Strategic Partnerships (LSPs) will play a key part in this, enabling local councillors to influence more widely the organisations and agencies that provide services to the areas they represent.” Alison will coordinate PtP events and publications, and will provide liaison support to LSP practitioners and PtP Practitioner Associates. She will also coordinate the funds that PtP offers to individual LSPs.
